The History
YouthAlive-NG is a non-profit public agency dedicated to preventing youth violence and generating youth leadership in Nigeria communities experiencing high rates of violence. YouthAlive-NG advocates for strategies to reduce violence and human right abuse. The concept for YouthAlive-NG was birthed out of a genuine concern and passion for reaching young Nigerians with a positive message.

Why Do We Exist?
Not a week goes by without the media reporting appalling statistics regarding the youth crisis within Nigeria today. It’s statistics like these that drive the heart of every member of YouthAlive-NG. Our young people are the future of our nation and we believe this is a future worth living. Therefore, it is our purpose to bring a message of hope and encouragement to those in need, and then go beyond this by providing genuine support through local youth groups in helping teenagers realise their potential.

What Do We Do?
YouthAlive-NG focuses on four key areas:

Reaching youth with a positive life message
Leadership Training
Leadership Networking
Missions Treks

This is facilitated through a number of high quality activities founded and run by YouthAlive-NG.

Big Events (In-Focus)
YouthAlive-NG Big Events are drug, alcohol and violence free events that take place across Nigeria at various times during the year. Each state holds a number of major events every year varying in attendance from 500 to 15,000 with most attendees aged between 12 and 25. The style of each event may vary dramatically but generally includes exceptional music, dance and drama performances, competitions, multimedia presentations, motivational speaking, giveaways and guest artists. The purpose of these Big Events is to provide an outstanding night out for teenagers and young adults, that promotes positive life choices. The programs of YouthAlive-NGprovide training to youth to build their leadership skills and support them in advocating for solutions to violence for themselves and their communities. YouthAlive-NG works to ensure that young people in Nigeria, no matter where they live, have the right to live to realize their full potential.

Training Days (In-Focus)
These are held throughout the State at various times in the year. They allow young people to be exposed to some of the most outstanding leaders and speakers in our nation, and from around the globe. Their purpose is to empower young people and develop them in their potential.

Leadership Breakfasts (In-Focus)
Held three to four times a year, these breakfasts are an opportunity for local youth leaders to network with one another, and hear from outstanding speakers.

Missions Treks
YouthAlive-NG is committed to reaching youth in all nations around the globe and regularly sends young people overseas for short term treks.

Communities We Serve
YouthAlive-NG works with young people in Nigeria who face multiple barriers to their safety and success. They battle with violence in their neighborhoods, poverty, limited access to resources, high drop-out rates from school, teenage pregnancy and more.
