20 Students Shot Dead, Federal Polytechnic In Mubi Adamawa Heated-Up

According to the news reaching us, some armed men stormed into the federal polytechnic in Mubi, Anambra state... rounded up a bunch of students, separated them into two groups, released members of a group and then shot-dead all members of the second group of about 20 people. This is so sad, after causing this harm, the terror-squared left the scene. Now, students of the institution are heated-up with fear glowing in their hearts. One minute silence for the dead, may their gentle soul rest in peace.

Sorry for writing yet again. We have serious misconception about how things actually work in Nigeria. For instance, when can one say investigation into a criminal matter have commenced? Is it from the date of commission?, date of Report to security agents without details of required information? Or the date when useful information is obtained? Now if the people who witnessed a crime refused to speak for the fear of their lives what guarantee do they have that the same assailant they fear will not still come after them whether they speak or not. And if such vital witnesses insist on silence, then there is little or nothing one will reasonably expect from our security agents. How should security agents source useful information? The same people will rather than do the needful come on air to criticize security agents for arresting the wrong people.

2. If a person is arrested at a scene of incident or caught on the act then you will see the high and mighty threaten your and if you fail to do their bid God may be too far for your salvation that day. They will do everything to withdraw same either from Police or Court.

My opinion in this case is that police should take the students who were spared into their custody. The students surely know them. They should either speak now that they can so we can collectively save them or wait for the assailants whose lives are unsafe now to permanently silence them forever.

My worry about these situations is that Nigerians are never serious about anything. I can tell you that no investigation is going on in this mater

Mubi is in Adamawa not Anambra state. The security agents should take the saved into custody and detain them for two reasons. 1 is that for the said Gunmen to spare them it means the gunmen know them. 2 is that if the same gunmen fills threatened they will still come back for them for fear of disclosure. A good listener could get useful information from them.
