Why should the Gov empower the Police with the power to torture people in their custody to death, instead of charging the Man to court for a proper case to be held, they decided to take law into their own hands, probably they forgot that they are also an human just like the diseased man. Now, they successfully killed the poor man, nobody knows if he receives a cut from the stolen money, all we can say now is that the Police killed him.
The Story
A65-year-old man, Mohammed Sani has allegedly been tortured to death in a police cell in Minna, Niger State while undergoing interrogation over allegation of sharing in the N1.7 million stolen from his boss by a fellow supermarket staffer.
The deceased was reportedly tortured to death by men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Niger State Police Command on Friday night after his arrest two days earlier, in connection with the theft by two of the staffers of the supermarket, who later confessed to have given the deceased half of the stolen money ...More

I wander how the stollen money will come out now since the Nigerian police did not know tht if not through tuture, that at that age , the man can die of heart attack. Police, why not continue to investigate this dead man

Shouldn't there be a Report on Death in Custody? If there were such Investigation they might find that the Police Contributed to his death.

They should stop torturing people. the law says until a suspect is found guilty by a law court, he or she is still innocent. Why should an innocent be tortured at all not to talk of death. This is too bad, wicked and barbaric. Nigerian Govt should wake up to their responsibility
