Celebration! Lagos Govt Bans The Flogging Of School Students For Life

Congratulations to all Parents who dislike the flogging of their kids by teachers who believe the only way to take violence out of a kid is to use violence, simply stupid. Now, those bad Teachers won't be able to satisfy their taste for the tears and tear of the body of students who dare challenge their authority, they will have no choice than to only give punishments and suspensions.

I the writer of this post can tell stories of how wicked some Teachers use to be with the flogging of students back then in late 1990s when i was about to graduate from high school, it was a wide wide west, endure the beatings or quit coming to school.

"News: THANKS to the  recent legislation passed in Lagos State by the administration of Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola SAN, the caning, beating or physical torture of school students, and of workplace apprentices, has been outlawed entirely, and declared both illegal and criminally culpable throughout that state.   This recognition accorded the basic human rights of Lagos State’s children, by Governor Fashola, is, without question, one of the most constructive, progressive and profoundly humanitarian initiatives ever set forth into law by any Nigerian elected leader, since the nation’s 1960 independence." http://www.bunibuni.com/index.php/world/world-news/africa/1623-flog...

The argument over corporal punishment in schools has now bn laid to rest in Lagos state. But did corporal punishment produce those who sleep under the bridge? Those who pickpocket? Those who act as area boys at motor parks? Those, who though governors and law makers  see when passing in their beclouded cars smoke weeds and other harmful substances, and end up taking shelter on the public toilet at the gate of former School of Telecoms compound? Parents....BEWARE the ides of August!

The Word of God can never fail whether there is a new law from the Lagos State Government or not. Parents, it left for you to now discipline your children yourselves. I hope the teachers will report them to you. Time will certainly tell.

Well, this is the position of the Bible concerning this issue.

Proverbs 13:24  "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes."

Proverbs 22:15  "Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him."

Proverbs 23:13-14  "Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell."

Proverbs 29:15  "The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."

This is very absurd from government of Lagos state.the teacher can be warned but not to encourage student chances and getting lazy.when fashola was in school, was his teachers looking at him when he misbehaves.its this time that we needed iron hand because socialization and immoralities are growing so fast in this age.

Let us watch out for the breed of new student from now to when this law will be DISBANDED. Do teachers flog any student they see? Now bad attitude will increase. Insult on teachers will increase. AND PARENTS WILL ALSO ASK WHY THEIR WARDS ARE PUNISHED OR SUSPENDED IN SCHOOLS. THEN ANOTHER LAW BANNING PURNISMENTS AND  SUSPENSIONS. CONGRATULATIONS FOR THE NEW BREED OF OUTLAWS. In my school day I was flogged when ever I went wanting and others of my mates and that is why we are still diciplined up to today. STUDENTS WILL NOW START FLOGGING TEACHERS - WATCH OUT. SPARE THE ROD, SPOIL THE CHILD.
