This is hard, can you imagine this... most of these houses will end up collapsing all over the place, valuable properties lost.. so so pitiful but, the president have warned Nigerians who were affected by this not to go to head towards taking their own life's.

PRESIDENT Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday urged victims of the devastating floods in Kogi State not to commit suicide, saying the Federal Government will support them.

He also promised to build more dams across the country to forestall a recurrence of flooding.

While advising the victims not to commit suicide, the President promised that the Federal Government would within its available resources provide them with the needed assistance.

The visit, he said, was to deliver the Federal Government’s message of sympathy to the victims.

I have a problem with Nigeria government. One there is no implementation policy here, why will some people build beside the banks of the river? Why will the government wait for something that has been forecast to take place before action is taken? Why should there be a lot of dead people before the right step is taken? The Lagos-East road has killed thousands before some action is taken. They will not tell me that they did not know such thing will take place as Nigeria is in the confluence of two big rivers in Africa, this kind of incidents is inevitable. No Nigerians filled with greed will only fight for their belly and seek ways to siphon money out of the country. Am really sorry for the future of this country.

I hate any one who tempt nature. When these people decided to build houses by the banks of the rivers. WHAT DID THEY THINK? When you decide putting your arm right inside the open mouth of a sleeping lion. WHAT DID YOU EXPECT. Now is time to shout Government. Nature is natural and nature is creation. Land came out of water and now water is finding its level. People must stay off the water ways.

Wow! God have mercy. This is quite devastating. Can you imagine poor people who have laboured all their lives and in one day it is gone! The Federal government should match words with action. They talk too much and do very little!

@Nollywood Dude, pls correct your title "wars" should be "warns".
